Servo-controlled welding
machine for the heating element butt welding of
pipes and fittings out of PE, PP, PVDF and PVC from
OD 90 up to OD 315. The machine version itself
corresponds to the manual version. The machine is
controlled by means of the CNC 3.0 control unit that
is setting new standards with respect to the
user-friendliness. The various demands for a modern
controlling system are fulfilled due to a data input
via barcode reading pencil and memory card system as
well as an extended memory for up to 30.000 weldings
and the sliding control unit. In combination with
the extremely dynamic servo-drive unit it is
possible to realize the shortest change-over times
with the smallest tolerances at the same time in
order that exact joining ways can be followed
besides the precise power regulation as an
alternative. A further advantage is the automatic
welding cycle via a computer-controlled, as an
option pneumatically damped swivelling out of the
heating element which nearly eliminates any user’s
influences and helps realizing the highest
repetitive accuracy.
The clamping tools can be moved towards
the inserted planer up to a definitive measure in
order that the pipes adjust themselves directly at
the planer faces. By this order the weld can be
prepared in a way that exact and reproducible
measures are maintained after the welding procedure.
During the heating cycle it is possible to
melt down the parts from both sides at a certain
value well-aimed. Friction streams with a different
bead building on both sides, e. g. due to moving the
heating elements, are thus eliminated by this
procedure.
The drives consist of high dynamics which
can be used for extremely short change-over times.
They allow the building of exact power ramps without
causing an overshooting with the typical power peaks
and can maintain the necessary joining force over
the course of the whole cooling down period very
exactly. As an option the same drives can be used
for welding procedures with adjustable and very
exact joining way limitations. Hereby a precise
geometry is secured after the welding.
The welding with power regulation is very
problematic with plastics of low viscosity if
well-aimed rest melt values have to be created. On
the other hand procedures with joining way
limitations have the disadvantage that a tension in
the weld already occurs after a short cooling down
period by the degeneration of the material’s thermal
expansion. A combination of both procedures would be
ideal during which a joining way limitation is
effected to secure the rest melt in the first part
of the cooling down period. It should only be made
possible to switch to power regulation after
exceeding a certain welding force to be defined. |

Cross-pieces of highest quality in the workshop.
The machine is
mounted on an extremely solid and torsion-resistant

running on precise guiding units highly capable of
bearing. The table drive allowing exactly
controllable forces at smooth running is constructed
in an ideal way with respect to the demands of the
plastics processing. The floating bearing of the
tables enables a very solid suspension of heating
element and planer. Both are swivelled between the
tools and meet highest demands on quality and
service life.
The clamping
devices which have been optimized in handling and
stability are mounted swivellingly onto the tables
for the fabrication of fittings and may be shifted
horizontally for an easy mismatch compensation.
Vertical compensating motions are available upon
request. Besides the solid versions of 15° resp.
22,5° which are principally used for the fabrication
of segmented bends, small steel versions are
available for the clamping of even the smallest
straight stubs of the fittings like e.g. flanges.
The welding pieces are clamped manually via spindles
in the standard version and may be optionally
supplemented by hydraulic systems.
The anti-stick
coated heating element has an electronical
temperature control and meets highest requirements
on service life and distribution of the temperature.
The electric
planer with chain drive in a closed housing with
high torque performance has been optimized in high
cutting performance at smooth running.

WIDOS welding machine 16000 (63 DIPS) WM |
|
|
Manual welding machine
for the heating element butt welding of PE, PP and
PVDF pipes and fittings from OD 800 (32“ IPS) up to
OD 1600 (63“ IPS). The machine has been especially
designed for the efficient fabrication of fittings,
bows and T- resp. Cross-pieces of the highest
quality in the workshop.
The machine is based
on an extremely solid and torsion-free basic frame
with precise high-capacity guidings and with a
symmetrically arranged cylinder battery. The machine
bed is performed in a flat construction in order to
keep the table level as low as possible for easy
equipment with clamping tools and welding pieces.
The applied table drive enables exactly controllable
and huge forces, features extraordinarily low
driving forces and thus warrants a constant movement
during the welding cycle. Two machine tables are
built on the basic frame which are both stored on
precise and high-capacity guiding units and which
can be diagonally shifted via spindles for
misalignment compensation. The tables are stored
afloat in order that balanced conditions during
planing, aligning and heating are warranted. The
tables are automatically limited in the opening
stroke in order to shorten the tear-off ways during
change-over.
The planer is
electrically powered by an extremely high-torsional
three-phase drive motor and disposes of an
electronic start smoother for shock-free working.
The special planer discs are optimized for the
highest cutting performance and quiet drive by
several cutting zones with adjustable chip flute
width, and due to the large overhang besides the
extreme center storing they are secured with
additional support bearings against bending loads
and bulges. The planer drives between the machine
tables in electrical manner and is, in addition,
hydraulically supported and locked within the
treatment position.
The anti-stick coated
4-zonal heating element is precisely controlled in
electronical manner and fulfills the highest demands
with regard to lifetime and temperature
distribution. By using individually replaceable
heating devices you will obtain precise temperature
distributions and this enables easy repairs and
individual changes without replacing the entire
unit. The heating element is suspended from a solid
girder frame with compensation of thermal expansion
and, for the quickest movements, it electrically
drives in and out within the machine tables during
the change-over time.
In order to produce
different fittings, there are clamping tools in
different versions and operations. They are mounted
onto the machine tables in predefined drilling
templates and may be quickly installed, aligned and
fixed in solid manner by a special system with
threaded jackets. The handling of the clamping tools
is controlled via remote control that may be
directly taken to the needed spot by the operator in
order that no dangerous situations occur due to
inadequate sight.
The clamping tools
for fabricating elbows which have been optimized in
its handling, solidity and tension force are
additionally used to fabricate T-pieces of 45° and
60° and mounted on the tables being freely rotatable
in its angle. The clamping of the welding pieces is
effected over hydraulic knee lever system for the
highest tension forces with adjustable locking
position; the opening of the clamping tools is also
effected by hydraulic drives with safety devices
against hose breakage and fall-through.
The clamping tools
for the fabrication of T-pieces are flexibly and
universally constructed by a special geometry and
assembly and thus may be used for all angles 45°,
60° and 90°. The assembly of the upper parts is
effected manually by piling onto with a lifting
device; the clamping may be optionally effected in
hydraulic manner instead of manually by spindles as
per standard. By a special design of the reducer
inserts you may fix dimensions from OD 1200 (48“)
and smaller without using the heavy basis upper
shells. This facilitates considerably the handling
of the thus lighter tools as well as the optical
insight at smaller dimensions and their alignment.
For easier operation
of the machine during equipping and clamping, the
machine is surrounded by a revolving platform with
anti-skid steps. It acts as revolving stairway for
comfortable ascending and descending and also as
additional operator protection in form of a front
barrier against unintentional entering into crushing
zones.
Furthermore, a safety
fence is assembled in the rear machine area which
shields the movements of heating element and planer.
As additional safety measure during automatic
processes, cleaning of the planing chips and
operation by several persons, you may temporarily
deactivate the hydraulic movement of the welding
tables by a peelable key holder. |
